Any questions? Please email media@bradsrawchips.com

TIPS:

* Green tea is allowed
* If you are hungry between meals, grab a handful (no more) of raw nuts and a tall glass of water. That will keep your hunger at bay.
* If you are feeling ill and suspect it is due to the raw food, decrease the amount of nuts and 'gassy' vegetables. Increase your green smoothies and fresh squeezed juice.
* Miso soup is allowed, but use the unpasteurized version as it is fermented.
* Do not heat anything more than 115 degrees F. If you have a Vitamix, this is easily done with the settings at 10 and high for no more than 45 seconds.
* For this week, 100% raw means 100% raw and vegan. Sushi will have to wait until after.
* After completing the challenge, consider a 80/20 ratio of raw to cooked food. We find that this is the easiest way to stay 'on track'.
* Please stay in touch and join us!

TESTIMONIALS from the January 2012 Raw Challenge Class:

Mary Margaret Moffitt

Day 6: I must say, without a doubt, this week has been the best "detox; cleanse; renewal"; I'm kind of sad that it's going to end, and am really considering this way of eating full time. Most if not everything I've eaten are all the things that I normally enjoy. I've added the Maca to my diet; the only thing I do miss is coffee. I love coffee. I love coffee. I love coffee. I could do without caffeine.

I've learned to love the fruits & veggies that I eat, and not think of them as "diet" foods. As well, I've stopped seeing nuts and avocados as the enemy and realize the nutritional benefit and healty fat that I am getting from them.

I can't believe how fast this 7 days has gone too! I plan to try eating at least 90% raw during the week, and then maybe allow myself to eat some cooked food on the weekends!! We're gonna be SO HEALTHY!

Last day. Thanks for the challenge Brad. It's been a very healthy and rejuvenating experience. I'll be incorporating a mostly raw diet going forward. To your health all!

Bart Towell

Day 6 was great but the most challenging. Had more raw oatmeal for breakfast, a salad and an apple for lunch, and I got my Brad's raw chips today so that was a good snack! The challenging part was that Bart and I were invited over to dinner with his parents and their friends at their house and I knew none of them would understand my diet challenge. Luckily she asked me to order some food for myself from somewhere because she isn't familiar with cooking gluten free so I got a big salad from the Food Coop. But she had all sorts of gluten free snacks just for me, wine, and she bought me my own cake! I tried to explain it and took the cake with me to appease her but I felt bad:(. I have noticed that after being on this diet for 6 days, I don't have the cravings that I had before. It was so much easier to not be tempted by the crackers and chips than I think it would have been prior to this challenge. Does anyone else feel that way?

Hi everyone! It seems the photos and updates I've posted are only visible to me, so I'm trying a post with text only. Today I started my day with a green smoothie (banana, mango, lettuce, oats, water); snack of raw nuts (almond, sunflower, pumpkin, walnut), two Turkish apricots, and cantaloupe; lunch was a pear, two celery stalks with fresh peanut butter, half of an avocado; dinner was an apple and some Brad's sun dried tomato kale chips and a half of a grapefruit. I have to admit that today a very fine international specialty box of chocolates appeared in my work kitchen... The chocolate pistacchio truffle was tempting me and I knew the last three wouldn't be there long. I looked at it and looked at it and after nearly a week without any processed sweet, I tried it. And I was shocked that it didn't taste good to me. I even wished I hadn't had it. And it just reinforced how clean eating really can change cravings and tastebuds. I now crave greens and fruits. I wish the challenge were longer!

Last day of the 7 day challenge. My belly feels smaller and I have lost 3.5 pounds, but my measurements are not any less. Not sure why, but I'll keep eating raw as much as I can. I love how much less food I am eating and still feeling satisfied. I may never have a huge plate of pasta again! Although I used to love pasta, but avoided it because it was too hard to stop at one serving. I am looking forward to another raw day. Time for yoga class.

Last day? The week flew! I feel great! Started my day with Zumba and a stroll through the farmers market. Made myself a green smoothie with spinach, banana, cantaloupe, and pineapple - so refreshing! I love how light and energized I feel eating raw. I plan to continue eating mostly raw, but I do miss my legumes. Also want to experiment with more recipes from Brad's booklet. Thanks for an inspiring week!

Day 7: Can't believe it's been 7 days already. I've dropped 5 lb. this week and feel amazing! I had a few tangerines for breakfast and am gonna go have a few strawberries soon. Then it's off to the store to get things for a lettuce salad for lunch!

It may be the last day of our challenge, but it is certainly not over for me. I'm hooked. I know now why they call it a lifestyle. I really feel like I am enjoying my life a lot more. I feel more comfortable in my body. I'm not devouring my meals like I used to, mainly because I feel so satisfied from meal to meal. And I can watch folks eat "other" foods and not even feel hungry for them. As a cancer survivor, I have even more reason to keep my body as healthy as possible. I'm toasting you Brad with my green smoothie this morning!

Tom Jacobs

Thank You for this, I didn't think I did that well, because I ate a lot of nuts this week, but I dropped 6 lbs! Looks like I will be doing this for a while. I like your 80/20 rule

Elizabeth Bedenbaugh

I started the day with grapefruit and then had a horrid stomach ache but it cleared up and I had veggie wrap in collard greens. I will be continuing for another 3 weeks at least. Thanks for doing this challenge.
